You would have had to be living under a rock to have missed the Platinum Jubilee celebrations over the weekend and what a celebration.
I think it’s fair to say that our Queen was celebrated in fabulous fashion and there was certainly something for everyone.
The feeling of togetherness that the jubilee seemed to create on this little island was heart-warming and some of the events really did make you realise how unique we are as a nation and how much has changed over the years with our Royal Family.
Here are some of our highlights here at She Makes Candles:
Whether you were watching from the sofa, or if you were lucky enough to be on the flightpath and watched from the garden, the armed forces certainly did Queen and Country proud, what a spectacular sight and how wonderful it was to see the Queen’s (and little Louis’ 🙉) reaction.
If you didn’t catch our future King and Queen consort visiting Albert Square, you missed an iconic TV moment. Are Charles and Camilla talented actors . . errr no??! Are they good sports and have they shown a more human side to our Royal Family – most definitely Yes!!
It’s not too late to watch it on catch up if you can – it will be talked about for years to come for sure.
If the sketch with Paddington meeting the Queen didn’t melt your heart a little bit, then there’s every possibility that your heart is made of stone 😆
Not only was it sweet and funny, but it highlighted the mischievous side of our Queen. Clearly a lady with a brilliant sense of humour and a slightly cheeky side to her. Well played your majesty.
Our final highlight has to be the incredible drone light display during the concert. From the Corgis, to a cup of tea, over 400 drones were used to create a spectacular light show to honour our Queen. There was even a handbag and of course we now all know what the Queen keeps in her handbag 😉🥪
